Tim Ripper Owens Joins Yet Another Band

Oct.18, 2011 in Metal News Leave a Comment

I haven’t liked a single album this guy has been on. I have low hopes for this one.

American vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens (DIO DISCIPLES, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) has been named the lead singer of TRED, the new band featuring bassist Rudy Sarzo (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, DIO), drummer A.J. Pero (TWISTED SISTER) and guitar virtuoso Mike Orlando (ADRENALINE MOB, SONIC STOMP). An album’s worth of material is currently being recorded for a 2012 release. European and U.S. tour dates are also planned.

TRED’s musical direction is described as “go-for-the-throat, straight-ahead rock.”

“A.J., Rudy and myself are real excited about launching this new lineup and it will definitely have tons of energy, great playing and some kick-ass hard rock!

New Thrash Metal from Vektor

Oct.05, 2011 in Metal News Leave a Comment

Vektor is so cool and talented and fun. Their new album Outer Isolation is coming out in November. Here is a new song called “Dark Creations, Dead Creators”, a pretty short song for them. Cool stuff, and dig that retro sci fi album art.

Falconer Video for Vid Rosornas Grav

Sep.30, 2011 in Metal Videos Leave a Comment

I mentioned Falconer’s latest album a while back, and I still have yet to hear the damn thing.

I found that they released a video from the new album too that I also missed. Well here it is, and it’s a tremendous fucking song. Its called Vid Rosornas Grav. It means By the Rose’s Grave. The video is a bit disturbing. I like the song a lot, its a feast of melodic folk metal with fantastic vocals and instrumentation. There’s an English version out there too. This is the Swedish version.

The mighty Dan Beehler returns! Check out the tune below. Old school metal all the way, and Mr. Beehler sounds great! Long live the loud!

BËEHLER — the Canadian band featuring the former EXCITER drummer/vocalist Dan Beehler, AGGRESSOR bassist Brian Stephenson and guitarists Sean Brophy and Scott Walsh — has inked a deal with the German label High Roller Records. The group’s debut album, “Messages To The Dead”, will contain 12 songs and will be released on both LP and CD (the exact release date to be announced soon).

“Messages To The Dead” track listing:

01. Jet Black
02. March Of Death
03. Eternal Tormentor
04. Message To The Dead
05. Destitude Abuser
06. In Know One We Trust
07. Organized Mayhem
08. Destroy
09. Megalodon
10. Save Me From Myself
11. Kill The Witch
12. The End Of The World

BËEHLER has already started working on its next studio album, which will mark a return to the classic EXCITER sound of the “Unveiling The Wicked” and “Long Live The Loud” LPs.
